Thunderstorms unleash lightning, rain in Mass.
BOSTON -- A man has been struck by lightning and traffic problems reported as thunderstorms move across Massachusetts.
Upton Police Chief Michael Bradley says a woman reported her husband was struck by lightning early Thursday. He said the man was conscious and breathing and was taken to Milford Regional Hospital for evaluation.
State Police Lt. David Wilson says the rain backed up traffic along parts of the Massachusetts Turnpike as well as Route 20 in the Grafton, Milbury, Auburn and Charlton areas. Floods were reported in parts of the state.
A National Weather Service flash flood warning covering parts of Worcester, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties expires shortly after noon. A flash flood watch ends at 8 p.m.
