Boston Police given M16s by military
BOSTON -- New semi-automatic rifles have been donated by the military to the Boston Police Department.
The police commissioner is considering training additional patrol officers to use the M-16s.
SWAT (special weapons and tactics) and tactical response teams have already been trained to use them.
Some say training additional officers will help improve safety against terrorist threats.
