Tractor-trailer becomes lodged under pedestrian walkway

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A big rig caused big problems for cars on Memorial Drive Thursday afternoon.

A tractor-trailer got stuck under a pedestrian walkway, after missing its turnoff at the Boston University Bridge.

The driver said he kept going on Memorial Drive looking for a place to turn around, which is when his truck became stuck under Magazine Bridge.

Traffic was slowed to a crawl as cars tried to maneuver around the truck.

State Police said they had to unload the truck's cargo and deflate the tires in order to move the tractor-trailer.

No injuries were reported.
