Father of suspect in 2007 murder shot in Mattapan

BOSTON -- The father of a suspect in a high profile 2007 shooting was shot in Mattapan Tuesday evening.

Sources said the attack on David Johnson's father was gang-related retaliation.

The man was shot in the hand. His injury is not life-threatening.

On Monday 19 year-old David Johnson was charged as an accessory in the 2007 murder of 13-year-old Steven Odom.

Odom was gunned down just feet from his Dorchester home.

Police say another man carried out Odom's murder.

He was shot dead days after Odom's killing.
