Skin rash outbreak at East Boston daycare

BOSTON -- Health officials are investigating after several young children at an East Boston daycare center developed a skin rash.
Seven children, between the ages of 15 months and four years old, at the East Boston Head Start at 130 Condor Street contracted skin mites over the past few weeks. Three of the children were siblings.
The program director told 7NEWS that every night a professional cleaning crew cleans the 15 room daycare thoroughly.
It was unclear how the skin rash got into the daycare.
The itchy rash is highly contagious and it is contracted through skin-to-skin contact, sexual contact and crowded conditions.
Last week, three cases of the rash were reported at Boston's Logan Airport.
