One dead in two-vehicle crash in Swansea

SWANSEA, Mass. -- Massachusetts State Police say one person has died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 in Swansea.

Police say a car driven by 21-year-old Joseph Vasconcelos of Wareham traveling west at about 9 p.m. on Sunday lost control, veered into an SUV, then left the highway and came to rest in the woods. Vasconcelos was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was able to maintain control after being struck, and she and her passenger were uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
