Thrift stores thriving in tough times
CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Thrift stores across the Bay State are seeing a boost in sales.
With the state of the economy, shoppers are looking to save some money on their clothing purchases.
The new Goodwill store in Chicopee hadn't even been open for 24 hours, but lines Friday were nearly out the door.
Colleen Gagnon was one of hundreds at the goodwill for the opening and she's saving a lot of money shopping for her three young kids.
"Nice clothes for reasonable price and when you have family and with the economy it's nice to get affordable prices," Gagnon said.
One Goodwill employee said while a bad economy helps Goodwill's sales, Goodwill is looking to help people in the bad economy.
