That Makes Cents reports

In this economy we're all looking to stretch our dollars. Now you can stretch your foods' shelf life at the same time.

Store products like cottage cheese, applesauce, and sour cream upside down. That actually creates a vacuum and they stay fresh twice as long.

Pre-made salads save time, now you can save money by making them last days longer. Just place a paper towel inside the bag to absorb excess moisture. That keeps the veggies from wilting as quickly.

Hate it when your cookies harden? Put them in a plastic bag with a slice of bread to make them moist and delicious again.

And that makes cents.
