We're making room for baby! Tonight our design team is helping expecting parents get their existing nursery ready for another addition to their family. 7's Lauren Przybyl has this week's "Room For Improvement."
This is a beautiful room for a little girl, but it's time to make this space ready to include baby number two.

"We found out with our second child being a boy that we could not let him live in a pink and green room. So we wanted to find something gender neutral, something up to date and storage and window treatments and just the perfect room that will fit our little prince and princess."
Princess Ava is ready to go and so is our Room For Improvement designer Carol Iberger.
First she picks the paint color.

"They already had green on the bottom of the wall, so I can't take total credit, and I thought let's reuse the green on the bottom."
So stripes are added by Living Color Painting.

Now we need some good lighting.

"We added this ceiling fan. There was no light here prior to this and we put it on the dimmer so we could dim the lights down and make it easy for the parents to come in the room when the kids are sleeping and won't wake them up."
And to block light coming in from outside, new blinds and window treatments are put up.
An adhesive tree mural is stuck on the door.

"When mom or dad says goodnight, it's nice to have something to look at."
And it's personalized by putting pictures among the branches. Even Lily the family dog is here.
If you are in need of extra space, our designer says utilize the closet.

"It's great to be able to put some of your pieces of furniture in a closet space. Take off the doors, put on drapes or curtains and that way it gives you a lot more floor space."
So we still had room for another dresser and an updated rocking chair for all those middle of the night feedings.
Everything in this room is color coordinated and our green theme looks glamorous. This room is ready for two peas in a pod.

Those are tears of joy. Ava also loves her new room, and my guess is when baby Gavin gets here he will too, thanks to our designer who spent less than $800 to create this baby bungalow.
