Room For Improvement: Marblehead master bedroom
It's where you start and end your day, so why wake up in a bland bedroom? Our design team transforms one couple's room into a sanctuary with style.
The Kronberg's love their Cape style home, but they're not feeling the love for their master bedroom.
Elizabeth Kronberg, homeowner
"It really doesn't have anything, any character at all. It has no curtains, and the bedspread is very old."
The cluttered closet works for Elizabeth, but her husband, Stephen, says it's time for a change.
Stephen Kronberg, homeowner
"I was relegated to putting my clothes downstairs."
"Room For Improvement" designer Carol Iberger has a master plan to fix it all.
The big bed stays and a new armoire is added to hide the TV. The rest of the room is filled with smaller pieces.
It turns out this outdoor table looks wonderful inside, and pictures placed under a glass top add a personal touch.
Carol Iberger, Re-Deux Design
"She can always change these out [and] add different pictures."
Rich brown sheets with a geometric pattern are laid out and a brown and green comforter finishes it off.
You might have noticed the beige walls in this room stayed, but a dark brown horizontal line was added.
Carol Iberger, Re-Deux Design
"It just opened up the whole room, and it also makes everything that you hang on the walls pop away from it."
The closet is completely redesigned by organizer Danielle Buss. With new drawers, shelves and a hanging area, there's plenty of space for Stephen's stuff!
Under bed rolling storage containers help as well.
Danielle Buss, Space In Mind
"She can store either winter items under the bed or such things as electronics to either add to a radio system or the TV system."
Now, it's time to accessorize. Look at this room shine.
Elizabeth Kronberg, homeowner
"Ready."
Stephen Kronberg, homeowner
"Here we go. Wow. Look at that."
Elizabeth Kronberg, homeowner
"Oh my gosh."
Stephen Kronberg, homeowner
"That's wonderful."
Elizabeth Kronberg, homeowner
"It's amazing."
Mom and Dad, watch out! Look who we caught getting comfy in your bed. Yep, it's their son Cole. It turns out the whole family likes this room that cost about $2000 to redo.
