Parents know all too well that kids love to play video games and watch TV.

But experts say moms and dads need to find creative ways to get their kids off the couch.

For starters, make playtime exercise time.

From bubbles, to bouncing, to balancing these kids may think this is all fun and games, but really they are getting a healthy work out.

And there's simple ways for parents to play the role of personal trainer to their kids.

For starters, moms and dads should be more than just spectators.

Parents should be on the lookout for exercise opportunities, make the playground a child's personal gym.

Mix up exercise routines with games.

Hide stuffed animals in a jungle gym.

Then let the kids run, climb, crawl and slide, in search for the hidden treasures.

A day at the beach is another golden opportunity.

At home, waving a flag or chasing bubbles can exercise little arms and legs.

A pet can add to the to fitness fun.

Just a few ways to keep your kids healthy, happy and active.

Some other ways to make fitness fun is to join clubs or have play dates with friends.

Experts say kids do well in group settings.
