The new President has some incredible tasks at hand: war in the Middle East, record high unemployment, a struggling economy, and oh yeah, raising two young daughters on the world stage!

The new President has some incredible tasks at hand: war in the Middle East, record high unemployment, a struggling economy, and oh yeah, raising two young daughters on the world stage!

Maureen O'Brien, Parenting coach
"I think it's going to be incredibly interesting to watch how the Obamas raise their daughters in the White House."

The First Lady will be devoting most of her time to the family.

Maureen O'Brien, Parenting coach
"I find it really admirable that Michelle Obama has said for this interim, for this phase of my life, I am going to make sure that my girls come first"

In fact, Michelle Obama's own upbringing is the model that the president wants for their family.

Michelle Obama, First Lady
"As much as he loved his mother and loved his family, and loved the unconventional upbringing that he had, I think when he thought about the life that he'd want for his kids, I think he longed for the stability he saw in my family."

And that stability will be key in keeping order to their soon to be chaotic new life.

Maureen O'Brien, Parenting coach
"
It's hard to imagine what it's going to be like in their shoes as parents. Because the kind of issues we as parents worry about - your child's safety, their security, their self esteem, all the developmental milestones are going to be under the microscope."

Parenting coaches say the goal will be keeping them grounded.

Maureen O'Brien, Parenting coach
"
The things that matter to all parents are rules, discipline a sense of structure, and for the Obamas I think those things are going to be even harder to negotiate given the status they have and all the attention being paid to them"

History will record what legacy the new first family will leave.
