Huddle at Home: Kevin Faulk
"You see him tear it up every Sunday, now were going to go in and check out Kevin Faulk and his family," says 7's Kirsten Watson.
The Patriots captain is a southern boy at heart.
He explains, "I'm from a little, small town, about 5 minutes away from Lafayette, Louisiana. It's a little country town, where everybody knows everybody, and takes care of everybody."
But Kevin plays his heart out for New England.
He and his wife Latisha have a full house. Daughter Tanasha is 13, Kevin is 12, and Kevione is 8. He also cares for his niece who is 8, and a nephew who is 6.
Kirsten asks, "When did you meet Latisha?"
Kevin says, "I met my wife in the seventh grade. We been together ever since, been married 8 years. A total of 18 years we've been together."
He goes on to say, "She's the quarterback. She keeps everything together, all in line, including me."
The 5-foot-8 running back is a Patriot veteran. He's been with the team 10 years.
He says, "It's my job. It's what I have to do. I'm not going anywhere. I don't want to go anywhere."
And he's got his pre-game rituals.
"I might be one of the guys on the team that's very superstitious. I try to do everything similar. You might see a movie where a guy puts one glove on first; I'm that guy!"
When Kevin's not playing football, he admits his wife brings out his softer side!
"During the off-season I'm always with her, watching something. I did cry a couple of times watching Lifetime television. So there is a softer side to Kevin Faulk."
For Huddle at Home, I'm Kirsten Watson, 7News.
