If you're a new Mom and looking to shed some of the baby weight, there's some good news, a new class to help tone up, and bond with your baby. Shannon Allen, wife of Ray Allen introduces us to this new trend that's helping mom's get healthy! It's tonight's Health Cast.

Celtics great Ray Allen dominates the game of basketball.

But when it comes to Pilates, it's his wife Shannon takes center stage.

"Ray and I are really into fitness, nutrition and exercise and just being committed to a healthy lifestyle".
Shannon, a Mother of three, has turned her Pilates workout into a family affair, and is helping other new moms connect with their babies while peeling off the pounds.

"For Mom's at home it's good to know if you take this class you really learn the moves, and it's something you can adapt at home".

It's called Pilates together, and Shannon does it with her newborn son Wyn.

"It's good for him, it helps him strengthen up his back muscles and stuff, and it's good for me to strengthen my core".

The 50 minutes post natal session incorporates the use of the babies as added resistance.
It helps tone and sculpt using a core strengthening workout.

"It's not easy if anyone tries to tell you that it is, is lying to you. It's important to get back in there, you want to be healthy for yourself first and foremost".

Shannon says all fitness is important, but this class gives an extra boost to mom and baby.

"Getting in the gym is a good first step and it's a great way to set an exmaple for the rest of your family".
